Torfaen CBC are developing a wildflower meadow from a very wet, abandoned field just past North Lodge, opposite the Burton's Biscuit factory and on the drive to Llantarnam Abbey/ Ty Isaf Farm. It was cleared and seeded about 2 years ago by Steve Williams team. I put my Heath Portable trap in there every 6 days. Night of 7th. June produced 31 moths of 17 species. Not uncommon but new to me were Grey Arches and Marbled White Spot. Also, Painted Lady appeared in my garden in Cwmbran on 28th.May and 7th. June and also in the walled garden at the new Llanfrechfa Grange hospital on the7th.
