To celebrate National Moth Night 2022, I am running an event at Newport Wetlands on Saturday 21st May.
The itinerary for the day is as follows:-
2 traps will be run overnight on 20th (the traps will be in different places to hopefully increase the variety of moth species trapped), with a Reveal taking place at approximately 9:00 AM to about 11:30 AM.
From 11:30 AM to about 1:00 PM there will be a children's craft session 'Design Your Own Moth'
From 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM there will be a guided 'Lepidoptera Walk' so seek out any day flying moths and butterflies on the Uskmouth Reserve.
Looking at the weather forecast, we shouldn't be short of moths for the reveal, and who knows what might turn up.
We are planning to put a further trap out on Saturday night and having a mini reveal on Sunday morning (same time).
All moth-ers are welcome to attend each of the reveals.
