There were plenty of butterflies at Tirpentwys Nature Reserve, Pontypool this afternoon with a male Silver-washed Fritillary being the high-light. Other species included: Marbled White x11, Small Skipper c.50, Common Blue c.30, Comma x2, Peacock x3 as well as large numbers of Meadow Brown, Ringlet and Gatekeeper and several Small White, Large White and Green-veined White.
