Another set of late records from September 2022 - a month that started well for me but was effectively stopped by Covid caught mid-month. I didn't trap again until October.
3rd September 2022: MV trap at Dingestow Court (3 new species for Dingestow during an ESE airflow)
5 Scrobipalpa ocellatella (new for Dingestow and part of a nation-wide boom of this Beet-feeding Micro, following Austin Rice's first county record on 28th August), 1 Ancylosis oblitella (new for VC35), 1 Hedge Rustic (new for Dingestow), 1 Scarce Bordered Straw, 1 Ostrinia nubilalis (2nd)
1 Delicate (2nd Dingestow record), 1 Dark Spectacle (3rd), 1 Ostrinia nubilalis (3rd, this is the European Corn-borer, which has become established in southern England and has several 2010s records from the Newport area)
