Garden moth trap operated on 17 June in Lone Lane, Penallt

In the next valley at Penallt where Ian Rabjohn runs his moth trap, there is always a bigger catch in terms of total numbers of moths and number of species but I was content with 55 species last weekend in my small valley. Many firsts for the year were caught and my highlights were two Scarlet Tigers, a Figure of eighty, 3 Grey Arches, Green Silver-lines and 14 Sharp-angled Carpets.
