New moths to home site

Yet more new moths registered on site

27th May- Chepstow Town

After a cold night on Sunday 24th, another attempt on a warmer evening on Wednesday 27th, proved to be well worth it with a much better turnout including several micro's.
A total of 87 of 37 species graced the trap light here.
A new macro to the site was in the form of Clay Triple-lines. I see them fairly frequently in the surrounding woods but it was nice to record one here in a more urban environment.

5 new micro's were registered from May 27th on site with another potential candidate of  Bryotropha senectella, but unfortunately this one was not to be identifiable.

The 5 included pictured below:

Nematopogon schwarziellus (Sandy Long-horn) (Common)

Homoesoma sinuella (Twin-barred Knot-horn) (Common)

Bactra furfurana (Mottled Marble) (Local)

Monopsis obviella (Yellow-backed Clothes Moth) (Local) 5th county record

Ectoedemia decentella (Sycamore-seed Pigmy) (Scarce B)

It was only nice to know that Argyresthia trifasciata (Triple-barred Argent) (Local) is still happily surviving here on site after original sightings in 2015 and 2016.
